Hmm jammer maar verloren in Cordenos, weer in een match tiebreak.
Kop op Dick, aan elke serie komt een eind, dus ook aan deze! Vroeg of laat valt alles in zijn plooi en ben je weer vertrokken ! Moet wel zuur zijn voor jou, maar ben overtuigd dat je op de US Open mooie dingen kan laten zien!

I also think Alexander is a good partner, I just saw Waske was ranked as 16 th in the doubles ranking in 2007. Sure you must be able to play some decent doubles tennis, otherwise you don’t get to this ranking. He is also a European, which surely is an advantage.
The only thing is they really need to improve their combined ranking to make it to the doubles draw of most ATP 250 or ATP 500 tournaments. Lets forget about the ATP Masters tournaments, I don’t think we will see Dick playing in these tournaments anymore. But hey, there are more then enough ATP 250 and ATP 500 tournaments to play ☺
But even for these tournaments you will need a combined ranking around 100 to be directly accepted into the doubles draw. I just saw the Doubles Entry List for Winston Salem, the last team that is accepted has a combined ranking of 88. Dick and Alexander also signed in for this tournament, but they are only 10th in the Alternates List (with a combined ranking of 144)
So lets hope Dick and Alexander are accepted to the US Open and get a good result there, in the mean time I hope they will play some challengers (perhaps Cordenons in Italy next week ??) to improve their ranking.
And it sure would help if Dick & Alexandre would start winning some match tie-breaks.

the draw in san marino was worst case in my opinion. so many week teams and dick and alex had to play on midnight against cervenak and klizan. cervenak beat haas a few weeks ago, klizan is no 53 in the world. dick served well i think, no breakpoints. after 7:6 (8:6) waske lost his serve at 1:2, the broke back, waske lost serve at 5:6. and again in the matchtiebreak it went against dick. the last 4 times i think
3:1 lead, then 6:7 and two serves waske, doublefault at 6:8 and they lost 6:10.
i think it is a bit unlucky, but alex is a good partner. i´m sure they would have won the tournament if they won their first round here...and last week was great with a very unlucky 8:10 loss against the good team hanley/brown.
if dick loses a match, it´s always very close and very often in the matchtiebreak. that shows he still is ready and able to beat every team. now we need some more luck again and confidence...

Hoi Dick,
In je dagboek las ik over je nieuwe tennispartner.
Als dat geen goeie nieuwe partner zal zijn !!! Alleen de naam al (Alexander) doet me vermoeden dat het een keitoffe, megacoole tennispartner zal zijn !!
"Alexanders" zijn 'goedjes" .... Ik kan het weten als trotse mama van een Alexander-exemplaar !
Doe dat maar goed ! Ik duim alvast voor jou en Alexander ! Dat jullie een goed winning team mogen zijn !

Good luck tomorrow. i your last 4 matches on the livescore. very unlucky with brunstrom, but now with alex it was great to see you winning again. alex is a good choice and he´s always on fire on the court. i hope you can make the final and beat crazy dustin and volley-god paul hanley fingers crossed

zo dat is nog eens goed nieuws vanuit kitzbuhel. Never give up, super om met Waske te dubbelen geloof ik, ziet er mij een even sympathieke kerel uit zoals jullie.

ps: nogmaals bedankt voor tickets wimbledon. De worstjes en biefstuk liggen op jullie te wachten, wacht nog eventjes want zijn nu op vakantie in Italie.

Great!!! Norman/Waske 1st round win 7/6-6/2, was moeizaam begin met 2 breaks and re-breaks in eerste set, vanaf de tiebreak liep het vlotter.
Dat zal deugd gedaan hebben.
